A 501(c)3 charity, the Billy Moon Foundation honors fallen FDNY firefighter Billy Moon. The heart of our mission is providing support, advocacy, and awareness for organ donation across the country, while offering financial assistance to donor and recipient families. By sharing our story and engaging the community, we ensure that donated funds help families with essential needs—such as food, travel, and lodging—throughout their organ donation and transplant journey.

A Legacy that Saves Lives.
Billy Moon, a lifelong dreamer and devoted FDNY firefighter, spent 21 years serving New York City and 28 years volunteering in the Islip Fire Department, rising to Chief of Department. Known for his huge smile, big personality, and unwavering dedication to helping others, Billy was also a loving husband and father of two. After a tragic firehouse fall in December 2022, he gave his final gift through organ donation, saving five lives, and the Billy Moon Foundation honors his legacy by supporting organ donor and recipient families with essential needs and raising awareness of the lifesaving power of donation.
